 | Picked as the most popular choice for a development blog topic, I've made a blog detailing the basic things about our new FunOrb site - OrbGround!
Since the release of FunOrb we have always planned to expand outwards to cover that topic. At first, we obtained the website name FunOrbz.com, using the classic 'z' prefix of our existing site. However, at the time, we had neither the skills nor systems to make this site any good - it was merely a copy the RSZ shell, with a different skin, and barely any new features.
Scrapping that project, it was left dormant for a very long length of time. Recently however, I came across the concept of using the site system in progress (the RSZ Rework) for multiple sites. This would allow for global user integration, so features such as blogs or user profiles could be common across all integrated sites.
We first released information on this new site a few months ago, giving access to a 'Portal' site, where select users could input data so that our databases aren't blank slates when the site is released. This is going well, and we already have a number of guides, reviews, and a vast number of achievements submitted.
As for cross-site compatabilities, features such as blogs and profiles as i've already mentioned will be availble on both sites, whereas systems such as the forums, ImageHost and chatbox will be available, but with different content on each. The PMing system and the Ticketing system will also be fully available on both sites.
Due to its high dependency on the new system, OrbGround will not be released until the RSZ Rework is finished, and due to both system's workings, it will be released at the same time.
I hope that's answered most your questions about OrbGround, if I see any more obvious ones cropping up around, then I will include them in the next OG blog.
