Hello,

Recently, since the appointment of Yolk as a member of our administrative support team, we've had some trouble with another site; I'd like to explain these problems, and let you know how we're going to solve them.

Yolk was a staff member of a forum board hosted by Scaped.net - Gorgor owned the host, and Yolk helped maintain a board running Gorgor's software. This software is architectural design is based on the official RuneScape forums created by Jagex. Since Yolk was invited to become an administrator here, he decided he wouldn't use the forum hosted by Scaped.net as often - Whilst few of us actually retaliated to this argument, there are a select few who did.

Both RSZ and Scaped have been attacked, and I would like these attacks to stop. Even though I was not involved, I am personally offering an apology to Gorgor for the troubles from our side, and wish him and his site well. He has a very good forum software and it would be a shame for it to go to waste. Gorgor, when you read this, feel free to E-Mail me at admin@runescapez.com and I'd be happy to discuss ideas for a link exchange, or maybe even some ways we can help each other out.

Thanks for reading,
Matt
RSZ Administration

You said you want to exchange links yet you banned people from going on scaped.net because you thought Gorgor was going to hack people? >_>

Luke,

There were problems with both sites during the argument - there was evidence to suggest that your accounts could be compromised by using scaped.net at the time, however this evidence proved inconclusive. The said evidence will not be disclosed to the public, but relevant people / organizations have monitored the evidence, and our suspicions proved false.

I've got a few questions about your suspicions of me hacking people, but I'll leave that for another time.

I'd like to apologize to everyone here at Runescapez for anything I may have done to upset you. I'd also like to apologize for continuously attacking the shoutbox, and well, pretty much being really annoying. I understand that you may not like me now, but I hope that I will eventually be accepted in as a decent member. I know that two wrongs don't make a right, but there was nothing else I could've done except deal with it, which I certainly didn't want. So again, I'm sorry, and I hope that you guys can forgive me.

No it's cool, hide my post. All I did is point out how you lied to us about Jagex getting in contact with you about the "dangers" of Scaped in order to manipulate us. Then simply pointed out how you were abusing our trust, as I thought it was a relevant point to add to the topic.

I can see why you'd like that hidden.

Edit: Interesting how I warned for telling the truth, isn't it?

I'm sorry, but I am going to have to forbid anyone to use that board you linked to. There is something going on, and Jagex have contacted fansites regarding it.

For example, without giving out too many details (as requested by Jagex), he has distributed an image of a LOT of secret Jagex things, things which are available not even to volunteer moderators.

Since when did they contact fansites? Since when did Yolk coming here prompt this Gor person to distribute secret images? Would he not still have distributed them, even if RSZ and Scaped made up?

Tell me, from a technical perspective, how would this have worked? Did he find an exploit in IE? Did he offer people free ice cream for their RS / RSZ passwords?

As much as I love saying things in a more satirical way, many of these are real questions that people would prefer answered. I'm not the only one that's tired of the deception whenever RSZ starts hating on some other website.

I have never said Jagex contacted fansites to mention any dangers. They contacted RSZ to discuss the problem and for evidence of what's going on.

By the way, sorry about the warning. I was testing something on the new site and didn't know it would carry over to here - don't worry about it. :)

I had reason to believe that using Scaped would be a security risk - they had a problem with RSZ and had even created a forum using an identical theme to ours. We don't know how passwords are encrypted there, and if a site has taken the said actions, then it's only right to stop people linking to it in the mean time.

Jagex contacted us, and as far as I am aware (unless I was lied to), they also contacted another - we both posted the issues on the Forum Emergencies thread on the RuneScape forums, and I was sent an E-Mail by Jagex. As far as I am aware, so did the other fansite.
